“The unusual boy had almost no brain”: a miracle that he lives his happy, unique life

POZYTYWNE HISTORIE

His brain was missing, and there was only 2 percent of the normal amount.

Nine years ago, Noah Wall was born in Britain. Not only medical professionals but the entire country was surprised when he came into the world.

Since doctors believed the child would be born with severe mental retardation, they initially advised the parents to have an abortion. However, Noah’s mother, Shelley Wall, refused. Being experienced parents, they were able to make their choice independently. The boy’s father, Rob, told journalists, “We are optimistic people, and we wanted to give our son a chance to survive.”

After birth, the boy was diagnosed with spina bifida, as he was missing almost his entire brain, with only 2 percent of the normal amount.

Now, the young man is quite active, has good speech, is learning to read and count, and even attends surfing lessons. According to doctor-researchers, the child’s brain has increased by eighty percent over nine years.

In other words, it seems that the child’s brain miraculously “expanded.” A recent scan showed that his brain is now almost fully functional, which doctors never expected.

He has not only begun working as an assistant meteorologist on British television but also undergone a successful procedure to remove a build-up of physiological fluid in the brain cavity.
