Brendan Murray recently appeared on The X Factor UK hoping to win one of the six seats in the show’s “Six Chair Challenge.” Murray takes the stage and tells the judges that he’s there to make a dream come true and that music is his passion.
They wish him good luck and he turns to the other contestants already on stage. Brendan begins to sing “Everybody Hurts,” a song written and recorded by the famous group R.E.M. Everyone, including the judges, is amazed by his voice. You can also see the other contestants discussing how incredible he sounds. When Brendan reaches the high notes of the song, the other contestants lower their heads, knowing that one of them won’t be staying on stage for much longer.
Brendan sings with such intensity that you feel all the emotions he feels and the emotions the song’s author wanted you to feel. Brendan naturally receives a standing ovation from the audience and judges after finishing the song, and he collapses, squatting on the stage, seeming to be crying.
Simon Cowell tells Brendan that he’s in a different category from the other contestants. Another judge approaches Brendan and expresses a desire to speak with him before pressing the button that advances the contestant to the next round of the show. Brendan is thrilled, and everyone is excited to hear this incredible artist again.
