Thirteen-year-old violinist Carolina Protsenko welcomes everyone in the shopping center with her acoustic performance alongside Oscar Stembridge as they perform together for the first time. Oscar has his acoustic guitar, while Carolina has her violin. Carolina begins by talking about how much bad is happening in the world because of COVID and the war in her native Ukraine.
“In our world, we need more peace, love, and hope.” Oscar starts playing, then Carolina joins in and accompanies. Carolina starts dancing during the performance, then Oscar begins to sing with an amazingly strong voice for a young boy.
They play and sing John Lennon’s song “Imagine.” It was written in 1971, but the words sound just as relevant today. It urges listeners to imagine a peaceful world where everyone lives in harmony. A crowd gathers around them and is impressed by the beauty of the music and songs. People record and share the performances of the two musicians and receive enthusiastic applause from the crowd. Carolina Protsenko is 13 years old, and she performs as a violinist.
She was born in Ukraine into a musical family; her parents play the guitar and piano. Their family moved to the United States many years ago when she was 6 years old. In just four years, her fan base has grown to over 10 million followers in more than 50 countries.
