Paris Hilton has expressed sadness over the reaction to a recent photo of her 8-month-old son, Phoenix Barron. The TV personality took to her Instagram Story to highlight how “unacceptable” it is for her followers to “target” her child in response to hurtful comments.
On October 19, Hilton, 42, shared a series of photos of her son, from her marriage to Carter Reum, on Instagram to commemorate her first visit to New York. After a TikTok user pointed out the backlash the post received, Hilton responded by stating that her “angel is perfectly healthy” and just has “a big brain.”
Hilton went further in her response to comments about Phoenix’s appearance in an Instagram Story post on Monday. She began by saying: “Living in the public eye, comments are inevitable, but targeting my child, or anyone else’s for that matter, is unacceptable. »
The public reaction, Ms. Hilton said, hurt her deeply. She said: “This hurts my heart more than words can describe. I have worked hard to create an environment of love, respect and acceptance, and I expect the same in return. »
As a social media personality and new mom, Hilton opened up about facing scrutiny when she was a mother. She explained: “If I don’t display my baby, people assume I’m not a good mother, and if I display it, there are people who are cruel and hateful. I am a proud working mother, and my baby is perfectly healthy, adorable and angelic.”
Hilton noted that her son is her “greatest blessing” and that she has always dreamed of being a mother. Every day spent with him reminds him of what really matters.
She expressed disbelief that some people could prey on such innocence and hoped people would treat each other with more kindness and empathy.
Paris Hilton and Carter Reum quietly shared the news of their first child, born via surrogate on January 16, 2023, just eight days after his birth. Paris Hilton also indicated that her parents, Kathy Hilton and Rick Hilton, are extremely attached to her child and actively give him advice to help him grow. Ms. Hilton’s close bond with her family provides an important support system.
