“Do you like American cars: hot rods, retro cars, muscle cars, lowriders?
Oh, and do you like trucks too?
Then check out this: A one-of-a-kind custom 1941 GMC COE (Cab Over Engine) that combines the culture of several American customizing styles.
It immediately attracts attention with its unusual exterior and the combination of bright yellow body and elements made of stainless steel, aluminum and chrome.
This custom truck was built on the very popular GM P30 chassis. It is equipped with a 2005 GM 8.1L engine and an Allison 5-speed automatic transmission.
Power steering and disc brakes on all wheels make driving this car much easier. Because when it was built in 1941, truckers could only dream of it.
In fact, here we have what is now referred to as a “restomod”. A classic vehicle with modern technology. This helps to overcome the problems associated with operating old cars, but still allows a feeling of connection to classics.
But if you thought this custom was just for the next auto show, you’re wrong. It is perfect for long journeys because together with the tractor there is a trailer with a mobile workshop.
The trailer has its own brakes, vintage taillights, polished aluminum trim and an aluminum rear door. And the design is just great.
Thanks to the trailer, this project reminded me of the cars from the post-apocalyptic game Fallout 4.
The mobile workshop in the trailer takes up two thirds of its interior space and is better equipped than your garage.
There are wooden boxes with tools, two tables, a 2000 watt generator, several fuel tanks and even a winch that could pull even a passenger car inside.
In 2007, this unusual convoy of cars was offered for sale at the Mecum auction in Monterey.
The estimated selling price was between 130,000 and 160,000 US dollars, or the equivalent of approximately 8.3 to 10.2 million rubles at the exchange rate at the time.”
