On her way to work, a nurse from Essex, England, discovered an abandoned suitcase on the sidewalk. Her instincts told her to go closer and investigate further. The woman discovered a genuine surprise when she opened it.
She found a bag containing 15 kittens, ranging in age from three to five weeks, abandoned in a bush.
The suitcase was cut with numerous holes to let air in, allowing the unfortunate kittens to breathe. Whoever abandoned them must have wanted them to survive. The “luggage” was also intentionally dumped near a known animal shelter.
Alison Gamble, a shelter employee, came to the nurse’s aid and examined the animals. She was satisfied with the kittens’ condition: “They are in good shape and it is clear that the kittens have been away from their mother.”
“Six of them are showing some signs of eye infection, while the others seem to be doing well at the moment, but we want to keep a close eye on them to make sure their health is okay.”
