In the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have started a new life. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the royal family many years ago, but the fallout left them completely stunned. In their shocking interview with Oprah and in Harry’s book, “Spare,” Harry and Meghan launched numerous accusations and personal attacks against the royal family, including questioning Archie’s skin tone before he was born.
There’s no doubt that the royals’ relationship with the Sussexes is at an all-time low. Harry was present during King Charles’ coronation, but other than that, nothing seems to have changed between him and William, for example. Amidst all this, Charles is claimed to have gone out of his way to support Meghan and was the only royal to reach out to her and Harry after the Oprah interview.
Sadly, Meghan revealed that she had attempted suicide while she was a working royal, and Charles wrote her a letter about it. However, Meghan was not satisfied with the then-prince’s response, and rumours suggested that it had a major impact on an important decision.
Harry and Meghan’s story is a long one. After meeting at a tennis tournament in London in 2016, the couple began dating and love quickly blossomed. However, some of Meghan’s friends already thought she wouldn’t be happy with him before they got married.
Meghan revealed in an ITV interview in 2019 that some of her friends even advised her not to marry Harry because of the impending media attention she would face.“It’s complicated. I don’t think anyone would understand it. To be honest, I was ignorant of it, which makes it difficult to understand, but when I first met Harry, my friends in America were delighted because I was happy,” Meghan said.
Although they agreed that he was attractive, my British friends advised against the relationship, stating that “the British tabloids would ruin your life.” As an American, I really failed stupidly to understand it. It’s not easy.
“I never thought this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair, and that’s the really hard part to reconcile,” the duchess continued. She went on to say: “I’ve been telling H – that’s what I call Harry – for a long time that simply surviving is not enough. That’s not the purpose of existence. You must thrive and have happiness.
“I made a sincere effort to embrace the British ‘stiff lip’ sensibility. I really tried, I swear. However, I think it causes a lot of internal damage,” she continued.Harry and Meghan tied the knot in a lavish wedding at St George’s Chapel on May 19, 2018.
At the time, it was clear that Meghan had been accepted by the royal family, especially King Charles, who showed the Duchess such generosity during the event even though her father had not been invited.Meghan was escorted down the aisle by King Charles during her wedding.
Robert Hardman, a royal biographer, claims that Charles asked Meghan if she wanted him to walk her down the aisle. Hardman stated in “Queen of Our Times: The Life of Elizabeth II” that Charles received a quick response, but it was not the one he had anticipated.
Meghan actually took the now King by surprise when she asked to meet him halfway down the aisle. She wanted to walk into the chapel alone and make her grand entrance.
The Prince of Wales offered to chime in, expressing his affection for his future daughter-in-law and declaring that it would be a pleasure to walk Meghan down the aisle at St George’s Chapel. One acquaintance said he wasn’t quite prepared for the response, which was: “Can we meet halfway?” Hardman wrote.
“This showed that the woman making the grand entrance was not a shy bride, but rather a self-assured and self-sufficient person.”In the 2018 BBC documentary “Prince, Son, and Heir,” Harry mentioned his father’s willingness to accompany his wife on her wedding day. Initially, Harry claimed to have approached his father about it, and Charles immediately gave his approval.
