Buddy is a 13-year-old Golden Retriever who has spent his entire life with his best friend Hannah Foraker. However, when Hannah turned 21, she joined the army and went for basic training in Oklahoma. Hannah’s heart sank as she left her best friends behind, including her horse, Derby, and Buddy. When Hannah returned home for Christmas break three months later, she couldn’t wait to see Buddy. And Buddy couldn’t wait to see her!
Hannah had Buddy since he was a puppy. Buddy is quite old now, with arthritis and mostly deaf. But that doesn’t stop him from warmly welcoming Hannah. The moment she sees Hannah, she puts her head in her lap and starts crying.
Over the years, we have witnessed many encounters with military dogs, but this one will surely tug at your heartstrings. Dogs never forget, and when these soldiers defending our freedom return home, they are the best (furry friends) ready to welcome them with open paws.
Some of the videos we’ve watched and shared with our viewers reminded us that dogs truly provide “unconditional love” in this world. This is a reminder that we need to take care of our best friends, and there is truly nothing more devoted in the world than a dog. The excitement Buddy must have felt when he saw his best friend at such an advanced age brought tears to our eyes.
